Another great week!
To start the week off..
It was Tuesday. We were at Zone Training, and for one of the
Break-Outs we all were assigned a road to go to and street
contact/knock some doors if no one is out. We get to our street.
Sister Fenn was holding the phone on her lap before getting out
of the car. She opened the door, and it flies out of the car and
into a rain gutter. These rain gutters are not like the ones we have
at home. They go below the ground. I think, "Well, maybe it's not
that deep!" I get down on my stomach to look. Yep. Sheer drop off.
No chance of seeing it. We all look at each other like "Uuuuh..what
do we do?"
We finished our assignment, first. Then booked it to the church to
tell our Zone Leaders. They didn't know what to do either...
We borrowed the Elder's phone to call the office, they said they
would send us one. Okay! Cool. We just won't have a phone....
Which, makes it incredibly difficult to get anything done. You don't
realize what you have until you don't have it! This whole week we've
had to meet the Elders at their apartment to use their phone. It's been
interesting to say the least. But! Today! We got our phone!! It's not
activated, yet...but it's here! So, that's a huge step.
Even though we've been off the grid, we found a new investigator!
Her name is Yadira (Juh-Deer-Uh). She's hispanic (: She is darn solid.
Yesterday, she told us that she wants a testimony of this Gospel.
She sees how it's affected people, and how it makes them so happy!
She even prayed for it with us! Amazing, huh? She is so great (:
We're going over tomorrow to teach her, again! The last 2 visits were
setting expectations. We were going to teach the Restoration yesterday,
but then we had to rewind because she didn't fully understand the Holy
Ghost. Which, you have to understand before we can teach. Because,
we're not the teachers, the Holy Ghost is! So, tomorrow, we will be
teaching her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (: We're stoked!!
We are going to be moving, as well.
Our lease is up, so we had to find a new apartment in the area.
Not having a phone made that difficult to communicate with the
Elders and the office to find one. Luckily, the Elders found one for us!
We haven't seen it, yet. But from what we've heard, it's awesome!
We're excited (:
That's one thing I didn't think about before coming out here...
Moving and finding apartments is apart of missionary work. haha.
Well! That's about it for this week (:
I love you all family!!
