General Conference Ya'll

GENCON GENCON GENCON!!!

GENERAL CONFERENCE, Y'ALL!! Ohhh my goodness.
I love GenCon. All of the talks were AWESOME.
I can't even think of what happened this week, because my
mind was blown by GENCON! Obviously, President Monson's
and Elder Holland's talks were my favorite. But, I also loved
Elder Eyrings, Elder Bednar, and the Russian one who said
"one should not roam around in trash". (:

I did get to make my cookies! (fromRhonda: I GOT A TEXT
FROM SOMEONE THAT SHE WAS GOING TO WATCH
CONFERENCE WITH AND THEY HAD ME SEND HER
FAVORITE COOKIE RECIPE) Jeremy (Kathy's hubby) LOVED
them. I'll be taking a picture with them, soon, as well (: So you
can put faces to names. I can't wait to bring y'all back here to
meet everyone. First house we're going to is Kathy and Jeremy's.
They are my family away from home! I'm going to be heart broken
when I get transferred. I'm such a dork..I hate big change, and I
hate goodbyes..so I come on a mission? haha.

DAD SHAVED HIS DUCK DYNASTY BEARD?! :( I'll pretend I'm
okay with that.

Sounds like the Brinkerhoff fam had an awesome week!
Oh man. Rugby sounds like it was MAD CRAY!!  AHHH!
RUGBY!! Sounds like some awesome games! WAY TO BEAT
HURRICANE'S BUTT!!!!  Wish I could've seen it.

YAY! I'm glad you got my photos! (: I have more comin soon ish.
We take pictures like crazy! haha. We each have our own thing we
like to take pictures of. Sister Westbrook's is bikes. She LOVES
bikes. Not the missionary kind..but the old fashioned kind. Beach
cruisers and such. Mine. Of course, is nothing you would expect.
Mine is weird mailboxes, and creepy houses. What else would I
take pictures of?

Okay, things are coming back to my memory of what happened
this week.

Our Investigators are doing great!  We have Emma (the 10 year
old girl) on date for baptism, on April 26th!!! We are STOKED!!
Kathy, is getting there. She doesn't realize she has a testimony,
yet. We haven't been able to see them, because they're in
Tennessee right now. But when they get back...oooh man. Their
lives are going to change! We're going to invite the spirit to teach
them so hard!  SO CLOSE! It's coming!!

This week was crazy busy. We did a ton of service.  Oh, during
service, we get to wear pants. But it's weird, I'm definitely to the
point of a skirt being comfier than pants.  I'm warning ya now..
I'm gonna be the weirdest person when I get home. Wearing
skirts all the time, and wanting to play Laser Tag every weekend.
Yeah. #sorrynotsorry

OH! So. April Fool's day. It was this past tuesday. Well. Do I have
a story. President Richards...he's good. Too good.

So, we've been expecting iPads, by the end of the year.  This is a
big deal..because we've heard that each missionary gets their own,
and then GETS TO TAKE IT HOME WITH THEM. That could totally
be a rumor though. Anyway, Tuesday morning. My comp is in the
shower. I hear us get a text!  So, I check it. It's from President.
What? That doesn't happen often. I read it.
It says,
"Dear MBM! We will be having a special meeting on Friday, April 11th!
We will be receiving our iPads that day!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!"
I start flipping out. I read it 3 times, making sure I wasn't going crazy.
I knock on the bathroom door yelling "IPADS! IPADS!"
The other 2 sisters we live with came running up the stairs.
I show them the text. We all look at each other in disbelief.
We read it again. We look up. Make eye contact.
Then start shreeking and jumping around. I'm positive our neighbors
thought we were all being murdered.  Sister Westbrook comes
running out of the bathroom in her towel, sopping wet, and starts
jumping around with us. Probably one of the most hilarious sights.
We settle down and continue to get ready. Sister Davis texted our
Zone Leaders saying "#iPads!" They reply "#aprilfools".
She came running in to tell us.  Both Sister Davis and I say
"he wouldn't..."   We then all 4 say "He would!"  The next morning he
sent a text out saying, "There has been a lack of faith in your President.
Due to this, there will be no meeting on the 11th. I'm going to keep all of
the iPads until that trust is once again restored. I hope you all had a good
April Fool's day ;)"

This joke.   Unusual and cruel.  Let me describe the reality of this...
Our hopes were as high as King Kong on the Empire state building.
But when we realized it was April 1st, our hopes went plummeting
towards the earth, making a horrible and disastrous thud.
Tragic.
But alas, the Atonement is real, and we have forgiven our Mission
President.  And we continue to pray and hope for iPads. (:

Haha, well, my time is about up family! I love you, so much.
Always remember who you are, and Who you stand for!
The church is true, as the book is blue.
Have a great week!  I LOVE YOU! (:
